Eleven is back and ready to fight in the final Stranger Things season 2 trailer
There’s only two weeks left until the second season of Stranger Things drops on Netflix, but Eleven looks like she’s had enough of waiting around.
The streaming service released what is supposedly the final trailer for the series today, and while it gives the clearest look yet at what might be happening in the new episodes, it’s also undeniably one hell of a trailer. Edited and scored almost perfectly, it gains momentum as it goes along, from a quiet abstract moment with Eleven to full-on speed montage, all set to the gradually swelling synthwave soundtrack of Survive. (The group’s music, as we’ve mentioned before, is an excellent gateway into the genre.) So even if we didn’t learn anything, this would be a superb trailer in its own right.
But learn we do, as it looks like the Upside Down has sent a new monster to terrorize our protagonists—and it’s much, much bigger. There are some new kids to help out in the fight, while Winona Ryder’s Joyce Byers just wants to know what’s wrong with her son, Will. You may remember him having an unpleasant moment in the bathroom at the end of season one, and whatever is happening to him is only getting worse. Which means that once again, the group is going to have to band together and find a way to help their friend—and save themselves—before the mysterious evil takes them all out. Damn, but this show is good at stoking anticipation. Let’s hope it lives up to the hype (and that Will just lives, period): Stranger Things season two comes out October 27.
