Eminem's new album will be here just in time for a very shady Christmas

Merry Christmas to everybody who’s into hearing aging rappers bemoan their troubles while Beyoncé does her best in the background: Eminem has announced the release date for his upcoming album, Revival, which will arrive on December 15 of this year, just in time to serve as a stocking stuffer for any Stans on your shopping list. The announcement—which continues the bizarre “it’s a pharmaceutical” branding that teased the album’s release earlier this year—was made via the Instagram account of Eminem’s old friend, Dr. Dre, who’s apparently no longer dead or locked up in the basement.

As we noted when the album’s first single, the leaky “Walk On Water,” arrived earlier this month, it’s not like there isn’t still a market for new Eminem music; his last album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, sold almost 4 million albums and won a Grammy for best rap album of the year. Still, Eminem seems to have a little extra hustle in his step as the new album approaches; he made headlines (and rolled eyes) with a rapped denunciation of Trump at this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards, and nothing says “Hey, pay attention to me” like convincing Beyoncé to soufully croon lame Jesus puns while you rap about your mid-life crisis.
