First Ant-Man And The Wasp teaser picks up right after the Avengers’ big split

Ant-Man And The Wasp will debut a couple months after Avengers: Infinity War, but this first teaser for the film shows Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne dealing with the consequences of Civil War.

Hope (Evangeline Lilly) won’t say if she would have sided with Cap and Scott (Paul Rudd) in that conflict, though she does know he wouldn’t have ended up on the Raft if she had. But Scott did get caught, and now they’re on the run with Hank (Michael Douglas), whose Pym technology has really made moving a snap. He’s also upgraded Wasp’s gear to include blasters and wings, which she puts to great use here.

The teaser suggests the sequel will have a darker tone than the first Ant-Man movie, as the trio (and Luis!) tries to evade federal law enforcement and who knows what else with Pez dispensers and flying ants. It also shows that Peyton Reed wasn’t overstating just how equal the partnership will be.

Ant-Man And The Wasp flits into theaters July 6.
