Former presidents team up to save America as a charitable Justice League

Donald Trump is more interested in hearing his daughter call him “daddy” than he is in actually doing good things for this country, which means the job to protect this country from natural disasters has fallen on the shoulders of the only five men who know what it takes to lead the United States (and are also still alive): George Bush, Bill Clinton, the other George Bush, Barack Obama, and Jimmy Carter. Together, these five former presidents have launched One America Appeal, a charity campaign with a fairly bad name that was established to help raise money for the victims of Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. That makes these five guys sort of like the Justice League, with Obama as Batman (obviously), Carter as Superman, George W. Bush as Aquaman, the older George Bush as The Flash, and Clinton as Wonder Woman (because he’s the one most likely to live on an island full of women).

The One America Appeal campaign has just launched tonight, and the former presidents have put together a quick ad that announces the initiative and offers a hopeful attitude about pulling together in the face of a crisis. There’s also a website where you can donate, with an FAQ section explaining that the One America Appeal fund was created through the George H. W. Bush Presidential Library Foundation, and 100 percent of all donations will be used for hurricane relief. The site also notes that One America Appeal intends to expand its relief efforts to Hurricane Irma in the future.

You can find more information and donate at the fund’s official site.
