Freeform renews The Bold Type for 2 more seasons
The Scarlet Magazine saga will continue on Freeform, as the network has decided to renew The Bold Type for two more 10-episode seasons. This comes from Deadline, which says that Gossip Girl and Togetherness veteran Amanda Lasher will be joining the show as the new executive producer and showrunner, replacing creator Sarah Watson. The series stars Katie Stevens, Aisha Dee, and Meghann Fahy, and it’s inspired by the life of former Cosmopolitan Magazine editor-in-chief Joanna Coles. More specifically, the show is about three friends in New York who are trying to make their way through the wild and sexy world of magazine publishing. There’s drama about building up Twitter followers, pitching stories, and trying to decide which high-profile writing job to take, all of which is depicted nearly as glamorously as it is in real life.
