FromSoftware announces its latest game with 15 seconds of bloody, terrifying nonsense

FromSoftware—the company behind Demon’s Souls, Bloodborne, and the massively successful Dark Souls trilogy—has made a name for itself by mixing bloody violence with enigmatic mystery. So it’s at least somewhat fitting that the company announced its latest game at The Game Awards tonight, not with a real trailer or any gameplay footage, but with a sort of sanguine, esoteric art film.

All we get, really, is an image of some sort of hideous clamp, apparently attached to a bone, and slowly growing tighter. The steampunky vibe of the pictured torture (?) device has us wondering if we might be looking at the first tease for Bloodborne 2, but for now, the footage comes attached to a different name: Shadows Die Twice. Your guess is as good as ours.
