Grudge Match

Sylvester Stallone and Robert DeNiro are aging has-beens who did their best work 30 years ago, and are now pale, flabby shadows of their former selves. Also, the erstwhile Rocky and Raging Bull star in Grudge Match as retired boxers, who set up a rematch to settle a decades-old rivalry. Kevin Hart is on hand to spur Sly back into the ring, while Alan Arkin is DeNiro's wizened trainer, and Kim Basinger is the love interest who tells Stallone he's too old, it's too dangerous, and other boxing movie clichés, before presumably showing up unexpectedly for the big fight to root for him anyway. Despite its obvious formula, Grudge Match may be capable of surprises—starting with the fact that Robert DeNiro seems to be playing second banana to Sylvester Stallone. On the other hand, if you think you'll get halfway through the trailer without a Rocky spoof, we envy your sweet, naive innocence, and as you've clearly never seen a movie before.
