Heidi Klum on Hot Ones gives us exactly what we want: chat about her worm costume

Heidi Klum has worn many hats over the years as a model, a television personality, a designer, and recently a singer (who knew!). But she’s never worn anything like that worm costume for Halloween 2022. The worm costume was so weird and so awesome. Luckily, Hot Ones’ Sean Evans understands that we really just want to be talking about the worm costume all day, every day, and brought it up in the latest episode.

“I was so claustrophobic in this thing, because you have to think, I’m already hours in this thing before I even go out,” she said, explaining that her arms were tied to her sides and her face was glued to the costume, limiting movement. She had lights put on the bottom of the red carpet so she could do interviews on the floor, just “because I thought it would be funny,” she said, which seems to be Klum’s guiding Halloween principle. “And you can’t get out, you can’t pee, I couldn’t eat or drink anything hours before, and then after a while I just couldn’t do it anymore, I had to take it off,” she recalled. “But then I left my face on, so I just cut it out… and then they just removed it, and I still had this face, and then I literally looked like bacon. … And I had this razzle-dazzle rhinestone thing underneath, which I thought was funny. Like, a funny contrast to this worm thing.”

The cool thing about Klum’s dedication to Halloween is that a woman who is mega-famous for being traditionally beautiful is always so excited to lean into the grotesque. Discussing another one of her costumes, a disgusting alien with exposed organs that was the “most prosthetics” she’d ever had, she cheerfully recalled putting herself “in a window in Manhattan” so passersby could see the transformation for themselves. “Because I thought, if people are interested in the artistry, they can come by and watch this evolve throughout the day.”

If you’re someone who’s a fan of Klum looking not grotesque, well, rest assured she’s preternaturally beautiful even while sniffling through the hottest of hot wings. She even manages to hit some pretty solid model poses after doing the entire gauntlet (though she did have to take her top off to get through it—you’re welcome, pervs). Speaking of modeling, we’ll leave you with this last tidbit about the most expensive outfit she ever wore: “12.5 million dollar bra and $750K panties to match… for Victoria’s Secret, it was all encrusted with diamonds and rubies and what not,” Klum shared nonchalantly. “I think I got in the Guinness Book of World Records by wearing the most expensive [lingerie set in the history of the world].”
