Hellboy will be back in theaters in 2019

It’s been nearly a decade since Mike Mignola’s cigar-chomping, demon-smashing hero Hellboy last showed up in theaters, courtesy of Guillermo Del Toro’s Hellboy II: The Golden Army. Now, Lionsgate has confirmed that Big Red will be back to kick monster ass in a little more than a year, with THR reporting that the David Harbour-starring reboot film, Hellboy: Rise Of The Blood Queen, has been granted a 2019 release date.

Specifically, the film will hit theaters on January 11, 2019, giving us all plenty of time to get our opening night Abe Sapien cosplay ready. (Unless we’re just recycling our old The Shape Of Water costumes, anyway.) The film will star Stranger Things hero Harbour, taking over the title role from Ron Perlman, and accompanied by Ian McShane, Milla Jovavich, and Daniel Dae Kim. Game Of Thrones veteran Neil Marshall is set to direct.
