House Of Cards creator calls Kevin Spacey sexual assault allegation “deeply troubling”
With Kevin Spacey having offered an underwhelming apology in response to Anthony Rapp’s allegation of sexual assault, House Of Cards creator Beau Willimon has also spoken up on the matter, calling the story “deeply troubling.” Willimon’s statement went out on Twitter (where else?) just hours after Spacey’s “remorseful” post that also acted as his coming-out. He says he’s never witnessed any “inappropriate behavior” in his time working with Spacey on the Netflix series, but he is nonetheless taking the accusation seriously.
Rapp, who was just 14 when he says a then-26-year-old Spacey sexually assaulted him after a party, hasn’t responded directly to either statements. Instead, he tweeted that he’s said all he’s going to on the matter for now.
