House Of Cards promises more of the sexy kind of awful politics in second season trailer

The most recent teaser for House Of Cards’ second season was, like so much in politics, all just smoke and… smoke. It was just Robin Wright smoking. But this full trailer confirms there will be lots of other things besides that, as Kevin Spacey’s ruthless Frank Underwood continues to gnaw at the D.C. power structure like a plate of ribs, declaring, “And the butchery begins” of what appears to be an even more intense and occasionally violent climb to the top. People stand in ominous shadows and spy on each other from behind blinds. Several of them break down and cry. Lots of things get thrown around. Threats are yelled. Generally speaking, House Of Cards’ version of government continues to be a far sexier version of messy and self-serving—perfectly timed for Valentine’s Day.
