The CW devoted its morning TCA panels to new series Black Lightning and Life Sentence, but still managed to squeeze in some exciting news about one of its established comedies. Rosario Dawson, who’s been helping The Defenders keep Hell’s Kitchen in one piece, is going to have a recurring storyline in Jane The Virgin’s fourth season. There’s currently no word on who Dawson will be playing on the soapy series, but she is set to appear in multiple episodes. Dawson and JTV star Gina Rodriguez are old pals, so the chemistry is already there, even if the series decides to set them against each other. And given her tendency to pop up across related properties, this could very well be the CW’s opening move to kick off the fan-desired Jane The Virgin / Crazy Ex-Girlfriend crossover.
Jane The Virgin’s fourth season resumes Friday, January 26.
