Netflix is gearing up for a return to its zombie-based weight loss plans, with its suburban zombie comedy The Santa Clarita Diet set to return this spring. The streaming service released some new pictures from the show’s upcoming second season today, revealing that husband-wife murder duo Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant will be getting some new neighbors/appetizers when the show makes its way back to screens.
First up: Joel McHale and Psych’s Maggie Lawson, who sound like they’ll be doing the whole “shadow archetype” thing, playing married realtors cast as “a more successful, more aggressive version of Sheila and Joel.” (We’re going to assume that includes the “killing and eating people” part.) There’s also Happy Endings’ Zachary Knighton, playing a researcher trying to figure out what’s going on with this whole “Serbian zombie curse” thing, and Gerald McRaney, playing an intimidating former army man who sounds like a major dad.
