Kel Mitchell is recovering after hospitalization
Good Burger 2 star Kel Mitchell confirmed he had experienced a health scare and is now in recovery
Kel Mitchell, the former child star who became famous for the Nickelodeon ’90s classics All That and Kenan & Kel, is recovering from an undisclosed health scare that sent him to the hospital. TMZ reported that the comic actor was admitted to the emergency room on Tuesday night and “appeared to be conscious and alert when he arrived.”
Mitchell himself posted a statement to his Instagram page, writing that he was “Grateful for the flood of prayers and positive vibes that surrounded me during a genuinely frightening time.” He went on, “With the grace of God and the skill of a medical team, I’m now on the road to recovery at home, embraced by the love of my family. The scare was real, but so was the support. Your kindness has been a lifeline, and I can’t thank you each enough. Much love to each of you.”
Mitchell’s statement was met with a wave of support from fans and friends alike, including Damon Wayans Jr., Yvette Nicole Brown, and fellow Nickelodeon and Good Burger co-stars Josh Server and Kenan Thompson.
Mitchell will next be seen in Good Burger 2, which will be streaming on Paramount+ on November 22. The sequel reunites Mitchell and Thompson for another wacky caper, this one set around the timely issue of Good Burger employees being replaced by robots. The old friends will have to face off against greedy corporate executives played by Jillian Bell and Lil Rel Howley. Also appearing in the film are All That alums Server and Lori Beth Denberg, Thompson’s Saturday Night Live co-star Ego Nwodim, as well as Marsai Martin, Ron Funches, Liza Koshy, Carmen Electra, Rob Gronkowski and more.
