It sounds like Kim Kardashian is about to have the best of both worlds. This past spring, the social media sensation and shapewear mogul opened up about her ongoing legal journey, stating that she would be “just as happy being an attorney full time” as she would continuing her life in the public eye (via People). Now, thanks to a new Ryan Murphy show, she mostly doesn’t have to make that choice.

According to Deadline, Kardashian and her momager Kris Jenner said an immediate “yes” to Murphy’s pitch of a new legal drama penned by Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans writer Jon Robin Baitz. Current one-time actor Kardashian will lead the series, described as a “high-end, glossy and sexy adult procedural,” as a successful divorce attorney and owner of an all-female law firm.

Not much else is known about the show yet, but for what it’s worth TMZ reports that the character is based off of self-styled “Disso Queen” Laura Wasser, whose roster of A-list clients and divorcees includes Ariana Grande, Ryan Reynolds, Angelina Jolie, and Britney Spears, as well as Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian herself. Hulu apparently committed to a straight-to-series order directly at the pitch table, although whether that’s on the strength of the story of Kardashian’s star power is unclear.

This will be Kardashian’s second time working with Murphy, after the prolific creator gave her her scripted breakout role in American Horror Story: Delicate earlier this year. Last week, it was also reported that Kardashian would be starring in an upcoming, female-driven ensemble comedy called Fifth Wheel, which is being written for Netflix by Paula Pell and Janine Brito.

All of this is exciting for fans of nipple bras and the growing reality-star-to-serious-actor pipeline, but it does beg one big question: can she actually act? According to The A.V. Club’s Saloni Gajjar, the answer is… kind of! Gajjar calls Kardashian’s AHS: Delicate turn as a sardonic Hollywood publicist “surprisingly promising,” writing that “as morbidly exciting—out of curiosity, if nothing else—as it is to see Kardashian onscreen in a different light, we can’t help but wish it was under better circumstances.” Maybe this new crossover into Kardashian’s real life interests will finally give her that chance.
