LAPD now investigating rape claim against Gossip GIrl's Ed Westwick
Earlier today, Kristina Cohen, star and creator of the Ladies Like Us webseries, shared a Facebook post in which she accused former Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick of rape. She said that it happened three years ago, when she was dating a producer who had taken her to Westwick’s home one evening. After supposedly making a joke about how they “should all fuck,” Cohen became uncomfortable and tried to come up with a reason to leave, eventually choosing to take a nap in a guest room. She says she then woke up with Westwick assaulting her, claiming he held her down and raped her.
Westwick denied the allegation in a brief statement, saying he doesn’t know Cohen and that he has “never committed rape,” but now Variety is reporting that Cohen has filed a police report with the LAPD, prompting the department to open an investigation into the alleged assault. All we know at this point is that an LAPD captain confirmed that Cohen filed a report that refers to Westwick “as being a suspect in a crime of rape.”
