Las Vegas gunman had booked a hotel near Lollapalooza
Details about the Las Vegas shooting and gunman Stephen Paddock, who took his own life after killing 59 people and injuring more than 500 others, continue to trickle in, with some outlets reporting on the 33 rifles and other firearms the shooter was legally able to purchase over the course of just 11 months. Just as unsettling is TMZ’s report that Paddock had booked two rooms at a hotel overlooking Chicago’s Lollapalooza festival this year.
According to TMZ’s sources at the Blackstone Hotel, Paddock had reserved one room from August 1, two days before the festival started, to August 6, and a separate room for August 3 to August 6. He’d requested rooms with views of Grant Park, which hosts Lollapalooza and its approximately 400,000 attendees annually. This year’s festivalgoers included Malia Obama, TMZ notes.
