Mackenzie Davis to star in Tim Miller's Terminator reboot
Blade Runner 2049 star Mackenzie Davis has already lined up her next big sci-fi project. According to Variety, the Halt And Catch Fire alum will star in the upcoming Terminator reboot.
Though Deadpool’s Tim Miller is directing, franchise creator James Cameron will act as “godfather” and produce the film along with Skydance’s David Ellison. The Hunger Games and Shattered Glass scribe Billy Ray is writing the script, based on an idea from Cameron, Miller, and Ellison. Arnold Schwarzenegger will be back, as well as Linda Hamilton, whose praises Cameron was recently singing (which is a nice change of pace for him).
The untitled film is both a sequel and a reboot, in the sense that it will pick up where Terminator 2: Judgment Day left off, and just forget about Salvation and Genisys, which is probably for the best. It’s scheduled for release on July 26, 2019.
