Marilyn Manson cancels shows after onstage injury

Last night, Marilyn Manson canceled a show in New York partway through after a giant prop gun landed on him, causing him to be taken out on a stretcher and rushed to a hospital. The official word was that Manson had injured his leg and would be “fine,” but Rolling Stone is now reporting that Manson has been forced to cancel the next nine shows on his tour. He will now be recuperating at his home in Los Angeles, with his rep confirming that the canceled dates will be rescheduled and that Manson “hopes to return to the stage soon.” Assuming he sticks to the current schedule, Rolling Stone expects him to resume touring on October 15 at the Freaker’s Ball in Grand Prairie, Texas.

The implication in all of this is that Manson’s injuries are more severe than initially reported, but no specifics beyond the initial incident have been confirmed.
