Marvel's Infinity War is going down sooner than we thought
While you were busy keeping an eye out for the Mueller indictments or scrolling through all the #LousySmarchWeather tweets, Robert Downey Jr. was hitting up Marvel Studios for a favor. The actor, who helped launch the MCU with 2008's Iron Man, asked if he couldn’t see Avengers: Infinity War sooner than May 4. The studio’s Twitter account immediately answered in the affirmative, suggesting he take Chris Evans, Chadwick Boseman, Danai Gurira, Mark Ruffalo, Don Cheadle, and Anthony Mackie as his dates.
But in true Tony Stark fashion, Downey Jr. wanted more, and asked to open up the invitation to “the entire world.” And wouldn’t you know it, Marvel Studios said “yes” in what was almost certainly an off-the-cuff moment, and not say, a last-minute switch to avoid going head to head with Star Wars Day. Who cares, though—at least you don’t have to worry about having your view of Infinity War obscured by other people’s Leia buns and Wookiee costumes.
