Maya Hawke to play a cool "alternative girl" on Stranger Things
According to Variety, Maya Hawke—the daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke—has been cast in the third season of Netflix’s Stranger Things as an “alternative girl” who is tired of her “mundane day job.” Naturally, as a character in Stranger Things, she eventually “gets more than she bargained for” when she discovers yet another “dark secret” in the town of Hawkins, Indiana. (Or maybe it’s one of the same dark secrets everyone else already knows about, like the parallel reality or the numbered children with superpowers.)
The character is reportedly going to be “one of the new leads,” which means she’ll most likely stick around for a bit. Speaking of sticking around, Variety says that Priah Ferguson has been upped to a recurring role for season three. She plays the younger (and very cool) sister of Caleb McLaughlin’s Lucas, so we should be seeing more of her whenever the third season premieres on Netflix.
