Man is finally getting a new game in 2018

Capcom held a special livestream to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Mega Man today, during which it announced that 2018 is the year he’ll finally be getting a new video game—the first since the retro-styled Mega Man 10 in 2010. Called Mega Man 11, the game is scheduled to be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch in “late 2018.” The publisher also put out a short trailer, embedded below, showing off the game in motion, and it looks about how you’d expect: lots of classically styled jumping and shooting set against some beautiful backgrounds. However, the blue bomber and his crazy robot foes have gotten a shiny 3-D makeover.

The company dropped a few other Mega Man-related tidbits throughout the stream: For starters, a new Mega Man X anthology that includes all eight games in that series will be reaching the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch in summer 2018. And in case you’re looking for yet another place where you can mainline every game in the standard Mega Man series before 11 hits, both of the Mega Man Legacy Collections, which include all 10 entries between them, will be released on the Nintendo Switch sometime next year.
