Michael Cera and Sharon Van Etten made a song together
Not long after becoming the best part of the Twin Peaks: The Return, Michael Cera has come back with another unexpected career move. As reported by Pitchfork, Cera has recorded a new song with Sharon Van Etten for the soundtrack to the documentary Diana. Cera says he recorded the song “in a hot basement with a Roland Jupiter 4 synthesizer and drum machine,” and he tells Pitchfork that it was written as a placeholder for another song. However, Dina directors Dan Sickles and Antonio Santini liked Cera’s track enough to put it at the end credits, and they’ve also put together a video for it that you can see below.
Unfortunately for anyone hoping that this will be a whole new direction for Cera (who also released an album in 2014), he says that making music is “just a hobby” and not something he’d want to do as a career.
