Michelle Obama announces "deeply personal" memoir

Despite how much Jeb Bush probably wishes it were the case, political power in this country is not supposed to be passed down along family lines. That being said, the Obamas seemed like a really great family and any one of them—even the dogs—would be better than that asshole currently in the White House, which is why former First Lady Michelle Obama has consistently had to deny that she has any presidential aspirations of her own. She has to do something else with her time, then, so Obama has just announced on Instagram that she’s going to release a new memoir later this year called Becoming:

In the post, she says writing the book was a “deeply personal” experience, and it has allowed her, “for the very first time,” to “honestly reflect on the unexpected trajectory” of her life. Obama says the book will cover how “a little girl from the South Side of Chicago” managed to find her voice and “developed the strength to use it to empower others.” She also linked to a website, which goes on to say that the book is “a work of deep reflection and mesmerizing storytelling.”

Becoming is part of the massive book deal the Obamas signed last year, and it will be available on November 13.
