Netflix grabs new TV musical from Damien Chazelle

Netflix is teaming up with Oscar-winner Damien Chazelle for a new musical project, issuing a press release today stating that the streaming service has acquired Chazelle’s new TV series The Eddy. As we reported back in April, the show will center on a Parisian nightclub and its various associated hangers-on.

Chazelle—whose past credits include high-profile music-adjacent projects like Whiplash and La La Land—will executive produce and direct two of the series’ eight episodes, from scripts penned by Harry Potter And The Cursed Child writer Jack Thorne. Meanwhile, multiple Grammy-winner Glen Ballard will write original music for the show.
