Netflix orders new comedy from Amy Poehler, Natasha Lyonne, and Leslye Headland

Netflix has just announced that it’s bringing Amy Poehler, Natasha Lyonne, and Leslye Headland together for a new comedy series, with Poehler producing, Lyonne starring, and Headland writing the first episode. The show doesn’t seem to have a name yet, but Netflix’s official synopsis says it’s about “a young woman named Nadia (Lyonne) on her journey as the guest of honor at a seemingly inescapable party one night in New York City.” That raises a lot of questions, including whether or not the whole series—which will be eight-episodes long—will take place on one night at one party, and also why Lyonne’s character is being honored at a party she apparently wants to escape from.

In a statement, Lyonne said, “So excited to get cracking with the intensely brilliant Leslye Headland, the GOAT with a heart of gold Amy Poehler, and Netflix, the safe haven I’ve been searching for since the 80s.”
