Sure, why not: Wednesday is getting an Uncle Fester spinoff

According to Variety, Fred Armisen will reprise his role as the creepy, kooky, mysterious, and spooky family’s most uncle-y uncle for the upcoming spinoff. Not much else is known about the series as of yet.

Armisen’s role in the original Netflix series was kept a surprise until a teaser trailer dropped, featuring the comedian donning Fester’s typical bald, dark-eyed visage. (Fester sported a similar look in both Jackie Coogan’s and Christopher Lloyd’s portrayals in the original Addams Family series and Addams Family movies respectively.) It does sound like Armisen, for his part, was really excited about stepping into the role for the initial series. “When it was like, ‘Well, it’s Uncle Fester,’ it just made complete sense to me,” he said in an interview with Netflix. “It doesn’t happen that often, but it was a real case of, ‘Oh, I’m the guy for this. This is something that I would really love to do.’” The comedian also shaved his head for his one-episode appearance, so he’s certainly committed to the part.

Wednesday season 2 is also still on the books, and will reportedly begin filming in Ireland this April. In addition to Ortega, Wednesday stars Gwendoline Christie, Emma Myers, Jamie McShane, Percy Hynes White, Hunter Doohan, Joy Sunday, Naomi J Ogawa, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Riki Lindhome, Christina Ricci, and Luis Guzmán.
