New trailer for Black Panther shows us what it’s been hiding

Marvel pulls back the curtain on some of the mystery surrounding Wakanda, the fictional nation and home to Black Panther, in this new trailer. The first preview effectively teased the conflict between T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) and Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan), as well as gave us glimpses at the magnificent Dora Milaje, the royal bodyguards led by Danai Gurira’s Okoye. But in the latest video, we get a closer look at Wakanda and its advanced technology, which Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) admits is even more fascinating than seeing aliens and gods rain from the sky.

“How much more are you hiding?” Ross asks, and the truth is obviously a lot, though the more accurate term would probably be “protecting.” T’Challa has to take his place as king, we’re reminded—by Angela Bassett no less—which means he’s the one who has to deal with threats like Killmonger, who shows off his own stunning armor in this trailer. Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Okoye advise T’Challa, but the video otherwise focuses on the upcoming battle between Black Panther and Killmonger. And once again, we can’t believe we have to wait until February 9, 2018 to see Black Panther hit the ground running.
