New Legion promos tease bigger threats and secrets

The first Legion season two teaser tried to undermine our understanding of everything that went down at Clockworks and Summerland in the first season. But a new pair of clips makes it pretty clear that there’s a lot of shit going on outside David’s head (not to mention ours).

Familiar faces make up the first promo, which sees David (Dan Stevens) meeting with Clark (Hamish Linklater) then waking up in some kind of tank as Ptonomy (Jeremie Harris) asks what’s the last thing he remembers. That would be the last thing after David was scooped up by a flying orb in the season-one finale. As creator Noah Hawley indicated last month at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, there’s going to be a time jump between seasons. We don’t know what David and Syd (Rachel Keller), got up to in that time, but in the same clip, she warns him against keeping anything from her.

The second clip is shorter but much more ominous, as Syd tells David “This thing kills everyone.” Is she talking about the Shadow King (now played by Navid Negahban, as well as Aubrey Plaza and Jemaine Clement, in a sense), or whatever it is that’s set so many people’s teeth chattering, including Ptonomy’s? We’ll find out more when Legion season two premieres April 3 on FX.
