New Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer tries to kill the past

Director Rian Johnson said he wasn’t sure if he wanted people to watch the latest trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but whether you’ve listened to his warning or not, that trailer has now—finally—been released. The first trailer, which came out way back in April, was all about quick flashes of action, weird planets, and ominous comments from Luke about the end of the Jedi, but this new one replaces Luke’s ominous comments with some voiceover from Snoke, the ugly dude who tells Kylo Ren to be bad. Going off of this trailer, he might not need too much help in that regard, if attempts to blow up his mom and bring Rey over to the dark side are any indication.

Disney and Lucasfilm have also released a new poster for The Last Jedi that is very red and slightly symmetrical, but sadly doesn’t feature any of those great new porg monsters.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be released on December 15, and tickets should be available now from wherever you prefer to buy your movie tickets.
