New X-Files featurette tries to drum up hype for season 11
Season 10 of The X-Files was a mostly disappointing revival (save for one incredible episode), and this new featurette for the show’s upcoming 11th season seems like a direct attempt to reassure fans that this next batch of episodes just might be alright. The new season will have more episodes for one thing, which David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson say will give the show some more freedom to just let Mulder and Scully banter. Anderson also teases an episode written by X-Files’ weirdo all-star Darin Morgan, setting up a clip of Mulder going “squatchin’.” There are also a ton of nods to the ever-important mythology, including more indications that Mulder and Scully’s son will be playing a big role this time around.
Season 11 of The X-Files is coming to Fox on January 3.
