Norman Reedus has a baby in his throat in Death Stranding’s weirdest trailer yet

Hideo Kojima, the legendary game director and madman behind Metal Gear, just debuted a new trailer for his upcoming game Death Stranding. Taking the stage with the game’s star, Norman Reedus, what Kojima presented can only be described as eight minutes of pure, inexplicable sci-fi madness. Reedus’ character, who’s apparently named Sam, has clothes on this time around and is trapped in a pretty dire situation with his crew. Appearing to be broken down in some sort of desolate, alien landscape, a bunch of lanky, barley visible figures are closing in on the hazmat-suit-wearing dudes. After one gets dragged into a puddle of black goo, another sees the magic baby in his chest pouch awaken and starts firing a gun into the air. That’s when all hell breaks loose, with a giant humanoid figure appearing in the distance as gravity reverses itself, Norman Reedus is transported to the bottom of an ocean, and we get a thumbs up from the baby that’s living inside him. Seriously.

Death Stranding, which also stars Hideo Kojima’s best friend Mads Mikkelsen, is set to release exclusively on the PlayStation 4. It does not currently have a release date or a coherent plot.
