Oblivion

For those who enjoyed WALL-E, but felt its sentimentality could have been set aside in favor of more shouting and pointing guns at things, Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski has just the movie for you. Like WALL-E, Tom Cruise plays a lonely little guy left behind on an Earth that was devastated decades ago, passing the time repairing machinery, tending to his struggling plants, and reminiscing about the good old days before civilization ducked out, when his world is suddenly upended by the arrival of a beautiful, mysterious female. Unlike WALL-E, there's a lot more shouting and pointing guns at things—particularly a group of underground dwellers led by Steampunk Morgan Freeman—and Tom Cruise is, according to the official synopsis, a human.
