Paradise

As if the line, "I've got a heart full of rage and an L.L. Bean tote bag full of cash," wasn't a sufficient giveaway, Paradise is the newest Diablo Cody-scripting movie. But, more-interestingly, it's also her directorial debut. Two-time Dancing With The Stars winner Julianne Hough stars as Lamb, a good Christian conservative girl who loses her faith after being badly burnt in a plane crash, leaves her small town and parents (Holly Hunter and a bald, naked-lipped Nick Offerman) to descend into the pit of Las Vegas and steep herself in sin. There, she drinks alcohol, wears a short skirt, goes zip-lining, and fraternizes with a British bartender (Russell Brand) and a brassy lady in a shiny dress (Octavia Spencer). You know, all the regular Vegas stuff. Though the movie isn't hitting theaters until October 18, it will premiere in living rooms via DirecTV this Friday, August 9.
