Recapture that old Great British Bake Off feeling with this teaser for Mary, Mel, and Sue's new Christmas special

There’s a particular vibe that powered previous seasons of former BBC mega-hit The Great British Bake Off, a chummy silliness—largely provided by presenters Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc—that blended in a very satisfying way with judge Mary Berry’s warmly encouraging approach to evaluating the show’s crop of reality show cooking contestants. Not to bash the show’s latest season—which saw fellow judge Paul Hollywood strike off on his own with a new batch of on-screen talent—but that particular chemistry was a precious part of the show’s appeal, and it’s something that’s been missed.

But no longer: The BBC released a trailer this weekend for the trio’s new Christmas special, Mary, Mel, And Sue’s Big Christmas Thank You, and—while we’ll miss the beautifully sculpted cakes and the endlessly dramatic crucible of the proving drawer—it’s a real heart-warmer for GBBO fans, nonetheless. The show sees the three throwing a benefit for a Welsh community center, which mostly seems to involve the two comedians making fun of Berry while she smiles gamely on. The program airs tomorrow night in the U.K.; meanwhile, the rest of us will just have to bask in the warmth of the available promo videos while waiting for it to arrive on American shores.
