Russell Brand is now getting a Netflix comedy special

After a brief and weird foray into political documentaries in 2015, Russell Brand is returning to stand-up comedy with a new Netflix deal. As reported by Page Six, Russell Brand has signed a deal to bring a new comedy special called Re:Birth to the streaming service. He’ll be recording it during two live shows in London in April, and a lot of the material reportedly involves Brand’s young daughter—so the name of the special is specifically regarding a birth, even though it looks like the title of a dumb sci-fi video game.

The Page Six story doesn’t say when Re:Birth will premiere or if Brand’s payday is on par with the many millions that Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle reportedly got, but we probably would’ve heard if he were getting $20 million for this special.
