Scarlett Johansson might star in the Jurassic World reboot, so at least that's interesting
It's been a couple of years since she was in a big franchise movie, so let's see her fight some dinosaurs
It’s still not 100 percent clear why a reboot of of the Jurassic World series needs to exist, at least from a creative standpoint (those movies printed money, so it does make sense from a soulless corporate perspective), but now Gareth Edwards is on board and ready to give Universal and Amblin exactly what they want with no complaints—the “Rogue One Special” they call it out in Hollywood. But what is this new Jurassic movie even going to be about? Nobody knows! That’s apparently the fun of this thing. It’s happening no matter what, nobody’s quite sure why, and nobody’s quite sure how.
But what if Scarlett Johansson is in it? She’s famous, right? She’ll put some butts in the seats, yeah? Well, Universal and Amblin are hoping that’s true, because The Hollywood Reporter says she’s in talks with those two studios to join the new Jurassic movie. THR is billing it as her potential big return to franchises, which will be good, since it’s been a whole three years since Black Widow and the general public was starting to wonder if she died (obviously nobody saw her in Asteroid City, even though that movie was great).
We have no concrete clues about what kind of character Johansson might play in this new Jurassic, but we can make some educated guesses. For starters, she’ll probably be a human being who has to run away from dinosaurs at some point. Also, following the naming convention of Jurassic Park to Jurassic World, this one will most likely be called Jurassic Space. Therefore, Johansson will most likely be an astronaut who has to avoid space-dinos after they escape from Jurassic Space-Park. Or maybe it’s a Planet Of The Apes thing and super-intelligent dinosaurs are putting humans into a park? It’s definitely one of those.
