Homeland Security reportedly raids Sean “Diddy” Combs’ houses in L.A. and Miami
Combs has been hit with several lawsuits over the last few months
Agents from the Department Of Homeland Security reportedly raided properties owned by Sean “Diddy” Combs today, according to Deadline. The government confirmed that it had “executed law enforcement actions” through the Los Angeles and Miami branches of Homeland Security Investigations and that it would “provide further information as it becomes available,” and while there was no official confirmation that any of this has to do with Combs, Deadline says it has a “well-placed law enforcement source” who claimed that he is “at the center of their actions.”
Over the last few months, Combs has been hit with multiple lawsuits accusing him of sexual assault, including, most recently, one from producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, who accused Combs of repeatedly groping his “anus and crotch without consent” and of trying to “force” him to bring sex workers to Combs’ house. Before that, an unnamed accuser, who said she was 17 when she met Combs, accused him of giving her “copious amounts of drugs and alcohol,” taking her from Detroit to New Jersey on a private jet, and raping her in a bathroom with two other men. There are additional suits beyond those, including one that Combs settled with his ex-partner out of court.
Deadline noted that the Department Of Homeland Security did not give any explanation for why these raids were conducted, but the outlet did add that the organization “has been at the forefront of human-trafficking investigations.” Rolling Stone takes that a step further and says that its own sources specifically claim this is part of a “probe related to alleged sex trafficking, domestic violence, and racketeering” and that five unidentified people have already given interviews to the federal government’s investigators.
Combs had previously denied the allegations made against him, posting on his Instagram at the end of last year that people are just “looking for a quick payday” by attacking his character, reputation, and legacy. The A.V. Club reached out to a representative for Combs, but they did not respond to a request for a comment.
