We previously reported that House Of Cards’ Beau Willimon was working on a TV series for Hulu about colonizing Mars called The First, and like with House Of Cards, he has once again convinced a pretty famous actor to star in it. As announced in a press release, Sean Penn will be the guy heading to Mars for Willimon, and while we don’t know any specifics about his role, it does seem like it’ll be a missed opportunity if Penn doesn’t come up with a ridiculously distracting accent for the part like Kevin Spacey did for House Of Cards. Or, better yet, he can just do the same accent that Spacey uses, making it an overt nod to Willimon’s other streaming series.
The First will go into production at some point this year, and it’s set to premiere on Hulu in 2018.
