The prophetic abilities of The Simpsons are legendary at this point—a knack for predicting the future that’s one part “sheer number of shots taken,” one part luck, and a whole bunch of “Today’s satire becomes tomorrow’s depressingly dumb reality.” At least this latest instance of the show getting something right is more likely to get Marge Simpsons’ toe-tapping approval, then the usual horrorshows, though: Legendary hip hop group Cypress Hill announced today that they’ll soon be playing with the London Symphony Orchestra—just as the four-fingered, yellow-skinned Nostradamusses predicted.

Someone Ordered A London Symphony Orchestra? (The Simpsons)

We refer, of course, to the events of season 7 Simpsons episode “Homerpalooza,” a.k.a., “the one with Peter Frampton’s flying pig.” And also Peter Frampton’s orchestra, which gets hijacked by Cypress Hill for a pretty catchy rendition of “Insane In The Brain” after being told they might have ordered the orchestra while high. Now, that joke—which, once upon a time, was predicated on the unlikely juxtaposition between stuffy orchestral music and the cannabis-heavy musical stylings of Sen Dog, B-Real, Eric Bobo, and DJ Muggs—has become a reality, as the band announced that they’ll be performing with the London Symphony Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall on July 10.

As noted by Consequence, Cypress Hill did a few symphony concerts last year, playing with the San Diego Symphony, so they’re not exactly out of their element at this point. This time, they’ll be rapping over interpretations of some of their biggest hits, arranged for the 71-piece orchestra by LSO’s Troy Miller.

Cypress Hill issued a press release this week announcing the news, and also acknowledging that this show—which we would for sure check out, honestly, it sounds like a blast—is happening largely as part of a 30-years-running Simpsons joke:

We are thrilled to be performing with the London Symphony Orchestra in such a prestigious venue as the Royal Albert Hall. It’s a dream come true, a collaboration only The Simpsons could have predicted.
