Turns out Snoop Dogg isn't quitting that type of smoke

A few days after posting that he had decided to "give up smoke," the "Gin And Juice" rapper revealed that it was all part of a marketing stunt

It sounds like poor Seth Rogen will need to share the “biggest weed celebrity” spotlight a little while longer. Just days after posting a somber, black-and-white eulogy for his days with “smoke,” Snoop Dogg revealed what we kind of all knew all along: of course the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper, who once claimed to smoke 81 blunts a day, isn’t actually giving up weed. (Although if he were, the aforementioned post would be easily one of the funniest things a celebrity has ever done.) What should have been obvious is that this whole thing was just part of a brand partnership.

Apparently, we really only needed to respect Snoop Dogg’s privacy—a request he made in multiple, since-deleted Instagram posts—while he set up a new fire pit in his backyard. A smokeless fire pit, to be exact. Get it?

“I have an announcement. I’m giving up smoke” Snoop says at the beginning of his clarification video. “I’m done with it. Done with the coughing and my clothes smelling all sticky icky. I’m going smokeless.”

The ad is specifically for a company called Solo Stove that specializes in smokeless fire pits—including a newly branded “Snoop Stove” that will set you back at least $239.99—as well as smokeless pizza ovens, camp stoves, and more.

And, look, that frankly does sound pretty nice. Smoke is annoying! You could probably sit around one of these and smoke a joint with your friends for way longer than a regular fire pit. You could even bring your Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart-branded “Best Buds Bag,” complete with an attached Bic lighter, which the longtime collaborators just launched this week. While you’re at it, why not bring your dog and all of her toys curated by Petco Picks by Snoop to the hang? Wow, this guy really has done a lot of brand partnerships, huh? No wonder the approximately $160 million man is chuckling to himself at the end of the video.
