Sophie Turner confirms Game Of Thrones won't be back until 2019

Winter might be here, but Game Of Thrones is apparently dragging its heels. Series star Sofie Turner gave an interview to Variety this week, in which she seemed to confirm rumors that fans of HBO’s blood-and-dragons epic will have to wait until some time in 2019 to see the series’ grand finale arrive.

That bit of scheduling info came as part of a longer discussion of the show’s upcoming ending, including Turner’s feelings on saying goodbye to long-time co-star Aiden Gillen in such a dramatic fashion earlier this year. At the end, though, she appears to spill the beans, responding to a question about her packed professional dance card—which also includes a reprisal of her role as Jean Grey in Fox’s X-Men films—in the coming months by saying, “Yeah, I’m really excited. Game of Thrones comes out in 2019. Dark Phoenix is in November. Then I have a couple indie movies coming out. I’m a producer on my next movie [Girl Who Fell From The Sky]. So I’m really excited about the future.”

That makes one of us, as the rest of us will be forced to sit tight and wait a little while longer for “the greatest thing that ever aired on TV” to arrive.
