South Park’s Avengers assemble in the latest trailer for The Fractured But Whole
The annual wave of video game delays hit 2016 hard, taking with it such prestige releases as The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild, Mass Effect Andromeda, and Persona 5. With a new trailer for South Park: The Fractured But Whole, Ubisoft would like to humbly remind you that its holiday lineup also suffered a major delay, only its game stars children in homemade superhero costumes and what must be a new world record for fart jokes in a video game. Fractured But Whole is a sequel to the surprisingly great The Stick Of Truth, and where that old-school role-playing game stuck to a fantasy parody template pulled straight from the series’ Game Of Thrones-aping episode “Black Friday,” Fractured But Whole takes aim at Marvel movies, specifically hero-on-hero action of Captain America: Civil War. This latest clip provides some story set up and introduces the South Park kids’ super-powered alter egos.
Although it was originally scheduled for release last week, Ubisoft ripped Fractured But Whole from its calendar and is currently aiming to get it on store shelves sometime in early 2017 for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. And no, Ubisoft’s “Nosulus Rift” facemask that lets you smell the game’s various bodily functions will not be accompanying it.
