Star Trek Into Darkness
The villains of this year's summer blockbusters need to contact their network providers and figure out what's happening with their connections, because their ominous messages keep getting buried in static. Following General Zod's example from earlier this week, the new viral teaser for Star Trek Into Darkness features Benedict Cumberbatch's villainous character talking about how much he hates Captain Kirk while scenes from previous trailers play on what appears to be a malfunctioning television set from 1962. The teaser isn't quite as odd as the Man Of Steel ad, ultimately serving to reveal the plot point that the film's bad guy doesn't like the good guy. Static might be the next Inception womp of movie trailers, or it could just be an cheap, easy way for studios to repurpose clips and slap a "viral" tag on them. Either way, this new Star Trek movie looks pretty cool.
