Stranger Things tries to outsmart fans by changing some episode titles
Last August, when Netflix renewed Stranger Things for a second season, the streaming service teased the new season with a barebones trailer that seemed to feature a list of the new season’s episode titles: “Madmax,” “The Boy Who Came Back To Life,” “The Pumpkin Patch,” “The Palace,” “The Storm,” “The Pollywog,” “The Secret Cabin,” “The Brain,” and “The Lost Brother.” Fans immediately began trying to guess what the titles referred to, with some guessing that The Pollywog in particular would be the name of a new monster. Before anyone goes into season two of Stranger Things thinking that they’ve got it all figured out, though, Netflix has released a new teaser that seems to alter most of the previously announced episode titles.
Here’s the new trailer:
This one lists the episodes titles as “Madmax,” “Trick Or Treat Freak,” “The Pollywog,” “Will The Wise,” “Dig Dug,” “The Spy,” and then a trio of unnamed episodes that are presumably actual spoilers—unless they’re still called “The Secret Cabin,” “The Brain,” and “The Lost Brother.” The new season premieres on Netflix on October 27, so we’ll know those final episode names (and whether any others were changed) by then.
