T.I. scored tickets to Black Panther for everybody at an Atlanta-area Walmart
Rapper T.I. has become the latest celebrity to make sure people see a black superhero kick ass this weekend; per Complex, the “What You Know” artist teamed up with an Atlanta-area Walmart to send 300 people to an advance screening of Ryan Coogler’s new Marvel film Black Panther tonight.
T.I. isn’t the first famous person stumping for the Chadwick Boseman-starring film, either; Oscar winner Octavia Spencer has said that she intends to buy out a full theater showing of the movie for low-income Marvel fans in Mississippi, and Ellen DeGeneres raised money to send kids at Harlem’s Boys & Girls Club to see the film. Those efforts—spurred in part by the fact that the film is one of the most high-profile black superhero offerings in years—have also inspired community groups across the country to sponsor screenings of their own.
