Talk about high-priority shipping: Amazon sent a customer 65 pounds of weed by mistake
Amazon is doing what it can to revive the old “Florida” story tag, shipping 65 pounds of weed to an unsuspecting Orlando couple along with their empty plastic bins. According to WFTV-9, the couple, who asked not to be identified, lest they end up labeled bogarts (and probably some privacy concerns), ordered four empty plastic bins via the online retailer. When the bins were delivered, they were much heavier than expected. After investigating, i.e., opening up the plastic tubs, the couple found one plastic-wrapped bundle of weed in each container.
The weed shipment reportedly came from one of Amazon’s warehouses in Massachusetts. This gift of kind bud didn’t go over well with the couple though, who were left worrying that someone would break into their house in search of it. They called the police, but even local law enforcement couldn’t get Amazon to comment on this kush delivery. The only thing the retail giant would do is send a $150 gift card to the Orlando couple as a way to make amends, but an apology is still pending. All we can think is that someone at that Massachusetts warehouse had been in the middle of a Dazed And Confused re-watch.
UPDATE: An Amazon spokesperson contacted us with the following buzzkill statement: “Our customer service team worked directly with the customer to address concerns and will work with law enforcement to investigate the case, as needed.”
