TBS finally gets around to scrapping Louis CK's animated cop comedy

According to Deadline, TBS has finally decided that it should just cancel plans for The Cops, an animated police comedy created by Louis CK and Albert Brooks. The network suspended production on the show two months ago, shortly after a New York Times article in which five women went on the record with accusations of sexual misconduct against the comedian came out. Deadline says the production offices had already been closed and the animators had already been fired before Thanksgiving, so scrapping the show now seems like it was mostly a formality.

The show would’ve starred CK and Brooks as two ineffective cops in Los Angeles, and it seems like the network had briefly considered keeping the project going in some capacity without CK back when production was initially suspended. The Cops was given a 10-episode series order last January.
