The Big Sick's Emily V. Gordon is writing another movie for Amazon

Screenwriter Emily V. Gordon—fresh off her first Oscar nomination for her heart-warming and funny autobiographical script for The Big Sick—has now lined up her next big writing gig. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gordon has been tapped to work with Transparent creator Jill Soloway on The Nest, an adaptation of Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney’s novel about a dysfunctional family of wealthy jerks fighting over a supposedly shared trust fund.

Soloway is producing the film through Amazon Studios, which also released The Big Sick. The project represents Gordon’s second film-writing job; besides The Big Sick—which she co-wrote with her husband, actor and comedian Kumail Nanjiani—she’s also written for The Carmichael Show and for HBO’s Crashing.
