The Boys are back in town with official season four release date
Homelander will be back to laser heads and take names on Prime Video this summer
Grab your milk, put on your cape, and hide any aquatic invertebrates you may have lying around. At long last, The Boys are coming back for season four—and not a moment too soon. Spoiler alert for both The Boys season 3 and college spinoff Gen V, but things are looking a little dire for dear old America. Butcher has only months to live, Homelander knows he can get away with pretty much anything, and the head popper is heading to the White House. Shit’s fucked, to use more Boys appropriate parlance.
The first three (!) episodes of The Boys season four will premiere June 13 on Prime Video, with following installments released weekly. The eight-episode season will end July 18. (By the way, if you’re wondering, eight episodes is the standard length for a season of The Boys; this writer had to double check because it feels almost impossible that less than 10 episodes could generate that much blood.)
Season four’s logline reads:
[The] world is on the brink. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscly thumb of Homelander, who is consolidating his power. Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca’s son and his job as The Boys’ leader. The rest of the team are fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they have to find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late.
Last month, Prime Video released a short teaser that’s filled with as many mouth tentacles, chilling Homelander stares, new characters, unnerving political ideologies, and weird Ashley dominatrix scenes as you could ever want. We also get our first glimpse at newest Supernatural alum Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who is joining the cast in a still-undisclosed role that interacts with (at least) Butcher.
The Boys stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit and Cameron Crovetti. In addition to Morgan, Rosemarie Dewitt, Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry, Rob Benedict, and Elliot Knight are all joining the cast for the upcoming battle.
